Tim Laman is a photographer, filmmaker, and field biologist with a passion for exploring our natural world. Normally he is on assignment to document endangered wildlife throughout the world. He continues to specialize in birds-of-paradise and orangutans. This website is where you can purchase some of his award winning images and support his conservation mission. Tim Laman’s work has garnered the highest international awards in wildlife photography.
WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR – The world’s most highly respected competition for wildlife photography – literally the Oscars of wildlife photography. It receives over 60,000 entries in a year. Tim has won not only the overall title of “Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2016” with his image “Entwined Lives”, but also won the two other most prestigious categories: the “Portfolio Award” category with his images of “Birds-of-Paradise”, and the “Wildlife Photojournalist – Story” category with his portfolio titled “Tough Times for Orangutans”. In addition to these three titles, he has had numerous other images place in various categories, a total of 22 images in all, making him one of the most decorated photographers in the history of this competition.

WORLD PRESS PHOTO – The world’s most highly respected photojournalism competition. In 2016, Tim was awarded First Place in the Nature Story category for his portfolio “Tough Times for Orangutans”.
NORTH AMERICAN NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY ASSOCIATION
2009 Tim Laman received the “Outstanding Nature Photographer of the Year” award - the highest award for nature photography in the United States, given out to just one photographer each year.
NATURE’S BEST – WINDLAND RICE PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS - This is the top nature photography competition in the United States, with awardees’ works exhibited in the prestigious galleries of the Smithsonian Institution Museum of Natural History. Tim has been the winner of both the “Bird Behavior” and “Underwater” categories, as well as had many other images recognized in various categories.
